Seldovia

This quaint little town was established in the late 1800's, and incorporated in 1945.  Approximately 416+ residents live here, about 316 of which live in town.  Seldovia is accessible by air or by boat only, but if you need to bring your car, you can bring it over on the ferry.  Though a small community, Seldovia can still provide the visitor with all the services required.  You'll find retail stores, restaurants, lodging, charter boats, a laundromat, grocery stores, a doctor and a dentist, 2 bars and 4 churches. This seaside destination experiences approximately 34 inches or rain per year, and 17 feet of snow!  Temperatures in summer average between 40 and 65 degrees, and in winter, dip to as low as -10.  A charming place to visit and spend time.
