There is a common saying on the islands: "This is the only place in the world where you can experience all four seasons in one hour." Alaska's most unique and remote, and the largest Aleut communities in the world -- the Pribilof Islands of St. Paul and St. George -- are easily accessible from Anchorage. Social life is community-oriented, with many time-honored Native and Russian traditions. The islands, a bird watcher's paradise,  are home to sea birds such as puffins, auklets, murres, and rare red-legged kittiwakes and more than 220 bird species have been identified on the Pribilofs, some from as far away as Argentina and Siberia. The Pribilofs are the site of the world's largest gatherings of marine mammals each summer when one million northern fur seals return to breed and give birth. Reindeer and  Arctic blue fox can also be found here.

The Pribilof Islands Tours

If you're a wildlife enthusiast, a birder, or a photographer, don't miss an opportunity to visit this unique Pribilof Island. In spring and summer, Saint Paul Island becomes emerald green and a variety of wildflowers transform its rolling hills into a profusion of color.

Experience the natural beauty and wonder of Saint Paul Island, where more than 240 species of birds have been recorded.  Among the many birds that may be found on the island are breeding seabirds and migrant shorebirds and, of course, there is always the chance for a Siberian vagrant.  The island is home to October, to a plethora of northern fur seals.  Saint Paul also is home to the largest Aleut population in the world.

Walk where Russian explorers did more that two centuries ago and explore the land that inspired the literary writings of Libby Beaman.  View the majestic Bering Sea as it breaks against charcoal-colored sand beaches and rugged rocky shores.  In spring and summer, Saint Paul Island becomes emerald green and a variety of wildflowers transform its rolling hills into a profusion of color.

St. Paul Island Tours has professional guides to introduce you to a wide and colorful array of resident, migrant, and vagrant birds dwelling on cliffs and along the shores of beautiful St. Paul Island in the Pribilof Islands.  You can see everything from Red-legged kittiwakes and puffins to free-roaming reindeer, Arctic fox, and northern fur seals.
